Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde meets Salman Khan after firing incident; says ‘will finish Lawrence Bishnoi’

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Bollywood actor Salman Khan's Bandra apartment on Tuesday. Security around his home was tightened as the CM arrived. The CM met Salman and his father Salim Khan, politician Baba Siddiqui and his son Zeeshan.

Shinde drove to Bandra and met the actor to assure him of tight security and stringent action in the firing case.

"The government is with you, I have told Salman Khan. Both the accused have been arrested. They will be interrogated. We will get to the root of the case. Nobody will be spared. Nobody should be targeted this way," Eknath Shinde told reporters.

"No gang or gang war will be allowed. We won't allow this to happen. We will finish (Lawrence) Bishnoi," he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Gujarat Police arrested the two accused in the firing incident and handed them to the Mumbai Crime Branch. The accused identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) were later presented before the court, and sent to custody till April 25.

Last Sunday at around 5 am, bike-borne menopened fire outside Salman's house. Though no one was injured in the shooting, Salman was inside the house with his family.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol Bishnoi has taken responsibility for the incident in a social media post.Since the black buck killing case, which dates back to 1998, Bishnoi has issued several death threats to Salman and his family.Last year, Lawrence issued an open threat to Salman and asked him to issue a public apology for insulting his community by killing a blackbuck or face dire consequences.

Lawrence Bishnoi's gang is also suspected of having involvement inPunjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moose Wala's assassination.Anmol Bishnoi is currently absconding and was last spotted in Kenya in 2023. He reportedly escaped India with the help of a fake passport.
