Royal expert says latest public outing must have been difficult for Princess Kate amid treatment

Princess of Wales looked splendid as she made an appearance during the Trooping the Colour ceremony last weekend. Marking her first official public outing since the news of her suffering from cancer came out, Kate Middleton looked spectacular and much in her element as she posed for photographs, greeted the onlookers and smiled from her glass carriage.
The first time she was spotted in public since Christmas Day 2023, Kate has been mindful of her outings. She has barely been snapped by curious paparazzi. She has kept a low profile mostly since then.

But her class act could have cost her a bit, suggested royal experts since she’s not keeping well owing to chemotherapy sessions. Kate underwent a planned abdominal surgery at The London Clinic in January that ultimately detected cancer. She made the cancer announcement on March 22, 2024. She has been receiving treatment since.
Meanwhile, royal author Katie Nicholl who has been covering the royals since Kate married into the family and has studied her extensively said that her “immaculate” appearance at Trooping the Colour took a toll on her. In Kate’s own words, she’s “not out of the woods” just yet and still has a few more months of chemotherapy left to go.
“The princess has this sort of swan-like quality about her—she’s sort of gliding on the surface, but beneath the water, I think often she’s paddling quite frantically,” Nicholl said. “I can only imagine that a huge amount of preparation and time and effort and energy will have gone into Saturday’s appearance.”
The royal expert noted that Kate “was on her feet for a long period of time” and that too “in heels”. She added, “There was a moment where she was watching the parade and was offered a seat, which she gratefully accepted. That’s just a bit of an acknowledgement that she is not as strong, not as fit, as she was before she went into this treatment.”

For the occasion, Princess Kate wore a white Jenny Packham dress featuring black trim and ribbon embellishments on the neckline. Her hair was elegantly styled in a braided bun under a white hat by Philip Treacy.
