Liam Payne's sudden and shocking death has left a void in the music industry and the hearts of his loved ones that can never be filled. His passing has also ignited debates about drug abuse among some celebrities and how the industry lost so many amazing singers like Amy Winehouse, Elvis, Kurt Cobain and Whitney Houston to drug overdose.
While the narcotics test results are awaited, some reports suggest that the singer was under the influence of potent hallucinogenic drugs that cause psychotic attacks and hallucinations. A TMZ report stated on Friday that the singer was high on "Cristal" at the time of his death.
Quoting some Buenos Aires police officers, the outlet revealed that the dangerous substance “causes users to experience extreme highs and extreme lows, often making them aggressive.”
According to the report, the officers told the outlet that Payne's "erratic behaviour" could be partly due to the drug and may have caused him to hallucinate, leading him to jump off the third-story balcony of his hotel room at CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires.
Meanwhile, some viral pictures of Liam's hotel room show the place littered with broken objects, a broken TV and a table full of white powder, pieces of tin foil and a burnt tea light candle.
A hotel manager, identified as Esteban, made an emergency call to the police on Wednesday night over Payne’s alarming behaviour before he fell to his death and said he feared he could potentially harm himself.
“We have a guest who is [allegedly] high and drunk; and when he is conscious, he is destroying his room and we need you to send someone, please,” he said in distressing audio obtained by Argentinian outlet La Nacion. “We need you to send someone urgently because I don’t know if his life is in danger.”
Payne’s aggressive behaviour and disturbing actions got him "kicked out" of the Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires before he booked a stay at CasaSur Palermo Hotel, according to People.
