After much talk about their relationship, K-drama star Lee Jae-wook and aespa’s star Karina have called it quits just five weeks after it was revealed that the two were dating and were getting closer and serious about each other.
C-JeS Studios, Lee Jae-wook's management agency, confirmed the breakup. The agency stated that the actor chose to end the relationship to focus on his current work. It added that the two would continue to support each other professionally.

The statement read: "Actor Lee Jae-wook decided to end the relationship in order to focus on the work that he is currently filming. The two will remain good colleagues and support one another. They will greet their fans with good activities through their respective avenues in the future. Please show your interest and support.”
There was a lot of attention on the two ever since they were spotted together and rumour mills started workingdouble time. The couple also faced a controversy, so much so that Karina had to apologise for falling in love. When the news of their relationship came out, while some expressed their happiness, others were upset as they questioned Karina’s choices and asked if fans’ love was not enough for her.

In a handwritten note shared on her Instagram, the Korean singer said that she shares her “sincere apologies” to those who are hurt. "I'm fully aware of how much MYs (the name of the group's fan club), who have supported me, would have been disappointed in me to think of all the stories that we shared together," the letter read.
"I would like to make amends for the hurt that I caused to MYs. I have always been sincere to MYs and each and every one of you are so precious to me. Thank you for reading this short text, which is not enough to show you everything that I feel, and I promise to show you how I will work harder to not let you down," it further read.
Lee Jae-wook and Karina first met at a Prada fashion show in Milan on January 14. Ever since, the two have been pictured often together on late-night walks.
