Dear cinema lovers, gear up for another biopic. Kartik Aaryan's next Chandu Champion is an encouraging story of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medalist.
After teasing audiences with aninteresting poster, the trailer of the movie was finally released on Saturday (May 18). The Shehzada actor released the trailer in hishometown Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Directed by Kabir Khan of theBajrangi Bhaijaan, 83, Ek Tha Tiger fame,the movie tells the inspiring story of Murlikant Petkar, who goes to a greatextent to become a champion and win a gold for his country India.
The 2-minute trailer highlightsthe struggles and triumphs of Murlikanth, as he goes on to prove that he's not a loser. The clip shows Murli coming out of a coma after being gunned down on a battlefield during the 1965 war. In the flashback, we get a brief look at Murli aka Chandu's life. Murli from his childhood was focused on his dream of winning a gold medal for India. To accomplish his goal, he does whatever he can.
In the teaser, Kartik's performance isimpressive as we see his incredible transformation. During the launch of the trailer in his hometown, the actor called the movie, the ''toughest film'' of his career.

Who is Murlikant Petkar ?
The biographical drama tells thestory of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. He won a gold medal in the 1972 Summer Paralympics in Heidelberg, Germany, for the 50 m freestyle swimming.
Born on November 1, 1944 in Peth Islampur region of Sangli, Maharashtra, Petkar was appointed as jawan of the craftsman rank in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) in the Indian Army. However, his life took a major turn when he was left paraplegic after he sustained severe bullet wounds in the 1965 war during an aerial attack by Pakistan. He still has a bullet in his spine.
In 2018, he was bestowed with Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour.

Chandu Champion Cast and Release Date
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the sports drama is set to release on June 14, 2024. Apart from Kartik, the film stars Bhuvan Arora, Palak Lalwani, and Adonis Kapsalis.
