Ever since Kartik Aaryan dropped out of Dostana 2, rumours of his tiff with filmmaker Karan Johar has been doing rounds online. Despite being asked about his bond with KJo on almost every interview, the actor maintained a respectful silence on the matter. However, Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan's recent posts indicate that the two have settled their differences and are cordial again.
While reviewing Kabir Khan's Chandu Champion, KJo called the film the actor's "career-best performance". While sharing a poster of Chandu Champion on Instagram, Karan wrote, "Kabir Khan directs this brave and inspiring life tale like a love letter to the human spirit! Kartik Aaryan gives his career-best performance with a humane and honest portrayal... a must-watch."
Responding to Karan's kind words, Kartik wrote on his Instagram Stories, "Thank you Karan. Means a lot."

Meanwhile, on Kartik's 33rd birthday, Karan announced that he will be working with Kartik in an upcoming project. He wrote, "Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day! Extremely thrilled to announce Dharma Movies and Balaji Motion Pictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented Sandeep Modi. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented Kartik Aaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August, 2025."
Coming to Chandu Champion, the film also stars Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma and Rajpal Yadav among others. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film tells the story of India's first Paralympics gold medallist Murlikant Petkar.
Wion's review of Chandu Champion reads, "There's no denying that Kartik Aaryan has an effervescent charm that works like magic on screen. In Chandu Champion, he uses it to play the vulnerable, determined, innocent and naive Murali well. He is remarkably restrained, sheds his goofy, smart alec lover boy image to play a village simpleton who only knows one thing and has one motto in life. It's not easy to match up to Vijay Raaz in scenes- but the duo has some splendid scenes together- showcasing a teacher and a student's relationship through the years." Read the full review here.
