Quality Control co-founder Pierre "P" Thomas suffered a heart attack in Las Vegas. Following this, he was rushed to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Soon after news of his health scare broke, rumours resurfaced that he had succumbed to the heart attack. However, his label soon rubbished the rumours, saying he is alive.
On Friday, TMZ reported that Thomas suffered a heart attack and has been admitted to an ICU in Las Vegas, with members of his family by his side.
Taking to Instagram, his company shared a statement that Pierre is currently receiving medical care.
“We want to clarify that Pierre “P” Thomas is alive and currently hospitalized receiving medical care,” Quality Control said in an Instagram post. “We ask that everyone keep P and his family in their thoughts and prayers and respectfully give them the privacy and space they need during this time. We deeply appreciate everyone’s concern, support, prayers, and loving energy right now.”
The news shook the music industry and the fans, who were aware of Thomas' name in the global hip-hop scene.
Thomas co-founded Quality Control Music, a record label and artist management company, with Kevin "Coach K" Lee in 2013, and it soon became a hip-hop powerhouse. The Atlanta-based label went on to launch the careers of Migos, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, City Girls and several athletes. One of the company's biggest deals was Migos, whom they signed within a month of founding the company. Other big names on their roster include OG Maco, Lakeyah, Rich The Kid, Stefflon Don and many more.
In 2023, the company was acquired by then-Scooter Braun-led Hybe America for about $300 million in cash and stock.
