Iconic Poltergeist house hits the market for the first time in 45 years

Horror film fans can now own a piece of cinematic history! The famous house from the 1982 horror classic Poltergeist is now up for sale. Located in Simi Valley, California, the home is listed for $1,174,999 by Lauren Murdock of Equity Union, according to latest reports.

The 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom property at 4267 Roxbury Street served as the setting for much of the original Poltergeist film, helmed by Tobe Hooper and co-produced by Steven Spielberg. The listing has quickly garnered attention, not just for its connection to the horror film, but also because it's the first time the home has been put on the market in 45 years.

While the house’s cinematic history might give it a spooky reputation, Equity Union assures potential buyers that “this house is clean” and free of any ghostly inhabitants. "We are getting quite a bit of interest on the property," Murdock told People, highlighting the appeal of the 2,373-square-foot home in Ventura County.

The house has a spacious living room with large windows. The formal dining room leads to the kitchen, where several scenes of the movie were shot. The main floor also includes a cozy fireplace, an office space that could be converted into an extra bedroom, a half bathroom and a laundry room.
