After the massive success of the first two installments of A Quiet Place, makers have now roped in director Michael Sarnoski for the upcoming prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One. It began when the screenwriters of the film drew inspiration from their love of silent films and survival horror.
A Quiet Place focused on a family living in silence to evade creatures with acute hearing. This film directed by Michael Sarnoski is a prequel to that.

John Krasinski has stepped down as director to let Michael Sarnoski's vision take the story to new levels.
While John Krasinski remains involved as a producer alongside franchise producers Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller, he played a crucial role in the search for a new filmmaker. This search led to the discovery of Michael Sarnoski, whose debut feature Pig earned the Best First Screenplay award at the 2022 Independent Spirit Awards.
On joining hands with a new director to give the franchise a new vision, John said, “Paramount was on board with the basic concept. We went looking for a writer-director who could bring something totally unique. We found that in Michael Sarnoski. I thought he would be an amazing choice for Day One. He is not only an extremely talented filmmaker, he also had a unique take on this world. I hadn’t thought of anything like it. It was just brilliant.”

Events in A Quiet Place: Day One take place before the events of the previous two films. The story is about a woman named Sam who must survive an invasion in New York City by bloodthirsty alien creatures with ultrasonic sound hearing.
A Quiet Place: Day One will release in theatres on June 28.
