Halle Bailey and DDG announce separation just 11 months after welcoming son Halo

Halle Bailey and DDG's relationship has hit a rough patch. Due to undisclosed reasons, the couple has decided to part ways after nearly two years of dating.

In an official statement shared via the rapper's Instagram Stories, DDG said, "Dear friends and supporters, after much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways."

"The decision was not easy, but we believe it's the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we've spent together and the love we shared. Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other," added DDG.

"As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we've built and the beautiful moments we've shared. As we navigate this transition, we ask for your understanding and support," he continued.

"Thank you for your love and encouragement," he concluded.

The two were first linked together in January 2022. They welcomed their son Halo in December 2023. While making the happy announcement in January, the actress wrote, "Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo the world is desperate to know you."

Halle Bailey, however, has yet to make a public statement about the breakup.

On the work front, Halle is awaiting the release of her next film Atlantis, which is helmed by Michel Gondry and co-produced by Pharrell Williams. Bailey will co-star opposite Kelvin Harrison Jr. and join newly minted Oscar winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph in this coming-of-age musical set in Virginia Beach in the summer of 1977, inspired by Atlantis Apartments, Williams’ childhood neighbourhood.

The film will hit theatres in May 2025.
