'GoT' star Gemma Whelan who plays Yara Greyjoy reveals a plot twist with a picture

We are three episodes down the ‘Game of Thrones’ final season after the makers treated fans with a chaos-filled last episode that had dragons fighting, Night King getting killed at the hands of Arya Stark, some people dying off and more.

Out of those alive after the Battle of Winterfell, people are very curious to know about the characters that have had a no-show in the last two episodes -- including Cersei Lannister, Euron Greyjoy and Yara Greyjoy as their lives centre outside Winterfell. Watch the trailer of episode 4 here.

Yara Greyjoy is one of the strongest female characters shown in the series -- from being a good fighter to having leadership qualities, she has it all.

Yara is played by actress Gemma Whelan who recently shared a breastfeeding picture on Instagram as she can be seen wearing her ‘GoT’ costume. Gemma gave birth to her daughter in October 2017 with husband Gerry Howell while filming for ‘Game of Thrones’ season eight was well underway. She captioned the image: “Enjoy tonight's episode guys...! Yara's got some big news...🤱🦑 👊🏼 #got #hbo #plottwistahoy”

The picture has been received well among her fans who mostly call it “empowering” and “beautiful” while some also feel concerned that it could be a spoiler.

HBO also praised the actor and wrote: “Aggressive fighter, loving mother.”

Earlier this month, Whelan revealed that her daughter was on set for the entire duration of filming for the show’s final season, meaning she would often have to breastfeed her baby in full costume between takes. She had said, “I’m really sort of tied into my armour. It’s quite difficult to get to yourself, let’s put it that way.”

She added that her daughter is one of the few who knows the ending of the show. She said, “She can't tell anyone. She can't speak.”
