
Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan revealed how the controversy around her elder son, Taimur Ali Khan’s name affected her. MissMalini Showbiz shared a video on Instagram where the actor talked about her feelings at the time.
Kapoor also said that her husband was quite calm at the time and asked her to be relaxed and sure.
Talking about the name controversy, she also mentioned how her grandfather Raj Kapoor’s advice helped her.
Kapoor said thather grandfather told her that if people are “talking about you, good or bad, they are talking about you, otherwise why would they talk”. He added that she had to take it in her stride: “if you want to be a superstar otherwise this place isn't for you”. He asked her to be strong.
She said that Saif was alsovery relaxed and calm about it. According to her, he said, “We need to be calm, and we need to be sure.”
Taking a lesson from her experience during the name controversy, she said there’s a reason why she shares things on Instagram, but she also does not share an equally essential part of her life.
Taimur was born in December 2016 and when his parents decided his name there was an uproar. The decision became so controversialthat Saif even went to the extent ofrenaming his child and being open to suggestions. In 2017, Saif told Mumbai Mirror that he was aware of why people were upset. People drew a connection to Taimur being named after the Turkish invader Timur. Saif and Kareena have two sons – Taimurand Jehangir Ali Khan born in 2021.
