Drake takes a hiatus from music to prioritise health: I need to get right

Drake, the renowned Canadian rapper, has recently made headlines by announcing his temporary departure from the music scene. In a candid revelation on his SiriusXM series, Table For One, Drake shared that he plans to take some time off from making music to focus on his health.

"I probably won't make music for a little bit," Drake stated. He did mention having commitments to fulfill for others but emphasised the importance of putting his health first. Although he didn't delve into specifics regarding his health issues, he admitted to experiencing ongoing stomach problems, indicating a need to address these concerns urgently.

I’m gonna be honest. I might, I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be real with you," he added.

In a world that often glorifies constant productivity and relentless work ethic, his choice serves as a reminder that no level of success should come at the expense of one's physical and mental well-being.

In recent years, Drake has been exceptionally prolific in his music career. He released two albums in the previous year, Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss with 21 Savage, and his latest studio album, For All The Dogs, featuring 23 songs, just dropped. Additionally, he has been on a North American tour with 21 Savage, titled It's All a Blur, since July, which is set to conclude in October.

Drake went on to say, “Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. I was just saying what it is now. I’m saying I was gonna say it. I’ll say it. So I, I need to focus on, on my health and I need to get right.”

After completing his ongoing projects, Drake mentioned that he intends to "lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe, maybe a year or something, or maybe a little longer.”
