Firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s house has started a nationwide debate around the safety of actors and how easy it is to take out vengeance against a public figure. On Thursday (April 18), the Mumbai police said that the two men who fired outside Salman’s house in Mumbai had first conducted a recce of his farmhouse in Panvel. This they had done four days before the incident.

What we know so far about the shocking episode
The two men have been identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21).
According to a report by PTI, the Mumbai Crime Branch officials said that the duo knew that Salman Khan often visits Arpita Farms. The farmhouse is located 60 kilometres from Mumbai. In order to be close to Salman and keep a watch on his whereabouts, they rented a house 10 kilometres from the farmhouse. The two men are natives of Bihar.
The police have revealed that the two have admitted to their involvement in the shooting.
They got access to a pistol 25 days before the shooting. They also got training in their village for the same. One person shot rounds while the other rode the bike.
In addition to the two men, police have also detained 19-year-old Sonu Gupta, the younger brother of Vicky Gupta from Chandigarh. They are investigating his role in the crime.
Reportedly, the Facebook account with the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol Bishnoi, who claimed responsibility for the incident, came up three hours before the shooting.
The Mumbai police have been able to trace the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the post. The post was traced to Portugal and it is suspected the message was uploaded using a VPN (virtual private network).
Earlier this week, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Salman Khan at his house and vowed to finish the Bishnoi gang. He told the media, “There is no gang (war) in Mumbai. The Underworld has no (place) in Mumbai. This is Maharashtra, this is Mumbai. We will finish this (Lawrence) Bishnoi (gang) so that no one dares to do such a thing.”
