Historic! Stree 2 becomes first Hindi film to cross Rs 600 crore at box office

Stree 2 is scripting history at the box office! Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's movie has now crossed the Rs 600 crore (Rs 6 billion) benchmark at the domestic box office. The horror-comedy is one of the first Hindi films to achieve this feat at the box office in a single language.

Directed by Abhishek Banerjee, the movie stars Aparshakti Khurrana, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Mukherjee.

Stree 2 Historic Box Office Numbers

Surpassing all expectations, the movie has become the first Hindi film to enter Rs 600 crore club (Rs 6 billion). The movie has surpassed Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan Hindi box office collection.However, it's still trailing behindAtlee's direction in overall collection. The movie's overallcollection is Rs 643.87 crore (Rs 6.4 billion)in all languages.

Released on August 15, the movie achieved this momentous feat in the sixth week of its release.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh wrote in a post on X, ''IT'S 600 PAAR... #Stree2 creates HISTORY as the *first #Hindi film* to achieve this milestone... From metros to non-metros, multiplexes to single screens and urban centres to mass markets, #Stree2 is an OUTRIGHT WINNER across the board. [Week 6] Fri 5.20 cr, Sat 3.80 cr, Sun 5.32 cr. Total: ₹ 604.22 cr.''

Now the movie is eyeing Atlee's Jawan overall collection.

Stree 2 has been moviegoers top choice since the release. Last week, the movie saw a boost in ticket salesdue to National Cinema Day on Friday, when the tickets were available at Rs 99 only.

This week, the movie might see a dip in numbers due to Jr NTR's Devara release.

On Sunday (Sept 22), Shraddha celebrated the movie's historic feat with her girls.

The movie is a sequel to the 2018 release of the same name.
