Bollywood star Govinda was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday after he accidentally shot himself in the leg. The incident took place at 4:45 am as the actor was getting ready to leave for Kolkata.

Now, after the news of the freak injury broke out, the actor's manager has opened up about what exactly happened.

As per news agency ANI, Govinda's manager, Shashi Sinha, said that Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He was keeping his licensed revolver in the case when it fell from his hand, and a bullet got discharged, which hit his leg. Shashi added that the doctor had removed the bullet and his condition was fine. He is in the hospital right now. The bullet reportedly hit two inches below the knee, his doctor revealed to the press.

Govinda is currently hospitalised at CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai. The police are investigating the incident after seizing his weapon.

Govinda is also a politician and has been a Member of Parliament. He is currently in the Shiv Sena, which he joined earlier this year before the General Elections.
