Ben Affleck 'is happy to be free' after divorce from Jennifer Lopez, says actor's friend

Ben Affleck is reportedly in a goodplace after his recent divorce from Jennifer Lopez, according to a close friend. The Gigli co-stars, who rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in 2022, have officially ended their marriage after two years. Despite the public attention surrounding their relationship, Affleck’s friend has revealed that the Batman actor is content and moving forward with his life.

In an interview with Paula Froelic of News Nation, Affleck’s friend shared insight into how the actor has been coping post-divorce. “(Ben) doesn’t care. He’s so happy to be free right now,” the friend said, adding, “She [Lopez] could wear all the revenge dresses in the world, she could show up to the red carpet naked — and he would not blink twice.”

Meanwhile, sources close to Lopez have shared a different perspective. According to OK! Magazine, Lopez is focusing on her career, with one insider noting, “She really wants that Oscar — and to be taken seriously as an actress.”

Lopez filed for divorce on what would have been their second wedding anniversary, following a summer spent apart. The couple missed several key milestones, including the Fourth of July, their second anniversary, and Lopez’s 55th birthday.

A source close to Lopez previously shared that she believed this relationship was her ultimate love story. “She truly believed this was the greatest love story she’d ever known and she was finally getting her chance at the fairy tale,” the source explained. “She just really didn’t stop to consider who the actual man was [in] the fairy tale.”

Insiders revealed that Lopez made significant efforts to save their marriage, but her attempts were not reciprocated by Affleck. “She tried so hard to make things work and it didn’t matter to Ben,” a source told the outlet. “She gave this everything she had, her whole heart. She would have done anything to make this work.”
