'1917', 'Parasite','Harry Potter' among 450 films to re-release in UK cinemas

Parasite and 1917 are the front contenders for the big award

As UK theatres are planning to re-open in the month of July, film distributorsassociation has scheduled a re-releasing of the movies. The UK’s leading distributors have published a collection of movies called relaunching cinema: content for recovery.

Around 400 films, including this years Oscars front runner '1917' to Oscar-winning movie `Parasite', 'Harry Potter' franchise, 'Lawrence of Arabia', 'The Dark Knight trilogy'and 'Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back', will be re-releasing on UK screens.

"Cinemagoing holds such a vital role in society, able to entertain and educate in equal measure, and returning audiences will be able to once again experience the magic of the film in its truest form," Leyshon added'' Andy Leyshon, chief executive of the film distributorsassociation said.

Major British cinemas are planing for the July opening as Vue cinemas offering a date of July 4 and Cineworld July 10. The month of July also marks some of the major releases like Disney’s live-action remake of 'Mulan'on July 24 and Christopher Nolan’s 'Tenet'on July 31 through Warner Bros.

The country has nearly 300,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and more than 41,000 people have died.
