
On Saturday night, more than a dozen people were injured in a tramaccident that took place at Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles. Around 15 people were injured in the tram accident, as per L.A. County Fire Department.
At around 9 pm, Los Angeles County Fire Department units were dispatched to the theme park afterreports of a crash.
Around 15 people have sustained minor injuries after the tramcollision at Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood. They all were taken to the local hospitals quickly, officials said.
In a statement to THR, a Universal Studios spokesperson shared that people had sustained 'multiple minor injuries.''
“There was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries, confirmed by the LA County Fire Dept. We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident," the spokesperson said.
More details of the accident have not been yet been revealed like what led to the incident. California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
However, as per LA Times,County Sheriff Lt Maria Aba told the publication that the tram struck a rail when it was travelling down a hill of a parking structure.
“There was some type of issue with the brakes,” Sheriff said. “We don’t exactly know what yet.”
