Team India skipper Virat Kohli on Sunday become the fastest cricketer to score 9000 runs in One Day Internationals in India's third ODI against New Zealand.

Virat Kohli, who reached the reached the milestone in a record 194 innings and his 202nd match, is the sixth Indian after Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Mohammad Azharuddin to achieve the feat. 

The cricketer, who crossed the 9,000-run mark off 109-balls, also made his 32nd ODI hundred before losing his wicket to Tim Southee for 113.

Earlier in the series, with his 31st century, Virat Kohli broke the record set by Ricky Ponting in the list of most ODI hundreds.

Tendulkar tops the list with 49 hundreds and he is also the leading run-getter in the format with 18,426 runs.
