Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has been slapped with yet another fine in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during hisside’sdefeat to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday (April 30). Pandya was found guilty of maintaining slow over rate during the match andhasbeenfined$29,000.Thisis the second time Pandya has been found guilty of maintaining slow over rate,which also triggereda fine for the entire Mumbai Indians side.
Pandya fined for slow overate
"Mr Hardik Pandya, Captain, MumbaiIndianshasbeen finedafter his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match48 of theIndian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on April 30, 2024,"BCCI said in a statement.
"As it was histeam'ssecond offence of the season under theIPL'sCode of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences,Pandya was fined INR 24 Lac.Therest of themembers of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually finedeitherINR 6 Lac or 25 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser,"BCCI added.
The MI skipperwas first finedon April 18 when his side beat Punjab Kings in Mullanpur.
He received a fine of $14,500 for the first occasion and was entitled to a double fine for a second offensewhichwascommittedon Tuesday.

If Pandya is found guilty of repeating the offense, he couldbe bannedfor a match during the IPL 2024 season.
Tuesday’sdefeat has seen MI all but out of the race for the Playoffs as they languish second from bottom. Only a better net run rate has kept MI away from the bottom spot as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)continue to stayrooted.
In 10 matches, MI have lost a staggering sevenmatchesand can reach a maximum of 14 points even if they win their remaining fourmatchesof theIPL 2024 league stage.
The five-time champions next take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday (May 3) with an opportunity to keep their remote hopes of Playoffs alive.
