1st Test: Struggling at 17/3, bad weather comes to India's rescue

Bad light and rain have put a stop to India's first Test against Sri Lanka.

The Indians were struggling at 17 for 3.

Lokesh Rahul was caught off the first ball of the match.

He edged a rising delivery from Suranga Lakmal to Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella.

The paceman then took Shikhar Dhawan for eight.

Captain Virat Kohli was the next to go, for duck.

Cheteshwar Pujara at 8 and Ajinkya Rahane, at nought, were left at the crease.

It had been raining for two days before the first Test, which began late because of a wet outfield.

And the game was stopped twice in between before finally being called off for good at 3.38 pm.
