Sensex off lows, still down 100 points, Nifty trades above 9,100

Indian stock market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty50 were trading over 1 per cent down on Tuesday following weak global cues.

At 2:30 pm, the 30-share Sensex was down 199 points or 0.63% per cent at 31,363, while the broader Nifty 50 index was trading at 9,197.95, down 41.25 points or 0.45%.

Today Rupee ended stronger at 75.50 per US dollar vs Monday's close of 75.74/$.

A total of 11 companies, including Nestle, Havells, and Bandhan Bank are scheduled to announce their March quarter results.
