Sensex gains 230 points, Nifty above 8,950

The domestic stock market indices on Tuesday opened higher on May 20 with Nifty above 8,900 level.

At 09:40 IST, the Sensex was up 234.43 points or 0.79% at 30,434.34, and the Nifty was up 75.10 points or 0.85% at 8,954.20.

About 392 shares have advanced, 220 shares declined, and 29 shares are unchanged.
