Sensex extends surge, climbs 481.5 points 

The BSE Sensex climbed 481.56 points to close at 37, 535 on Tuesday.

The Nifty meanwhile climbed 133.15 points to close at 11,301.

The Sensex closed at a six-month high on Monday, after the announcement of the dates for the general elections a day earlier on Sunday.

New reports Tuesday said strong global cues and uninterrupted buying by foreign investors were helping prop up the surge.

And that a stronger rupee was contributing to the positive market sentiments.
