Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance and Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 facelift launched in India.

Mercedes-Benz India todaylaunched two ultra-premium models in thecountry,the mostpowerfulversion of its flagship S-Class sedanever, the AMG S 63 E Performance Edition 1, and the facelift of the Maybach GLS 600 SUV.The former is priced at ₹3.35 crore (non-Edition 1 model), while the latter is available at ₹3.30 crore. The exclusive ‘Edition 1’ will be available only in limited numbers, and each unitis pricedat ₹3.80 crore. All figures are ex-showroom, pan-India.

The AMG S 63 E Performance is Mercedes’ second plug-in hybrid model in India, following the GT 63 S E Performance 4-door Coupé. Powering the AMG S 63 E Performance is Mercedes’ plug-in hybrid 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 (with a 13.1kWh AMG-spec battery) mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The 4MATIC all-wheel drive powertrain develops 791bhp and 1,430Nm, with the electric motor (set on the rear axle) contributing 188bhp and 320Nm to the overall output. The battery also enables an electric-only drive range of 33km.

The AMG S 63 wears anAMG-specific radiator grille with vertical louvres and a large central star– a first for any S-Classto date. For the extra premium, the exclusive Edition 1 gets a Mercedes Manufaktur Alpine Grey exterior colour, 21-inch matte black AMG cross-spoke design wheels, red brake callipers, an AMG fuel filler cap in silver chrome with ‘AMG’ lettering, and an AMG indoor car cover with Edition 1-specific print. Inside, the Edition 1, as standard, comes with AMG Exclusive and Night Packages. The former includes offerings like black Nappa leather upholstery with contrast red stitching, ‘Edition 1’ engraving on the centre console, AMG carbon fibre trim elements with red thread, and illuminated door sill panels with ‘AMG’ lettering, to name a few.

The Maybach GLS 600 faceliftcomes withan updated 4.0-litre V8, afew cosmetic updates, and new interior trim and upholstery options. The revised fascia features a modified radiator grille design, a new bumper, and a Maybach logo pattern on the air intake grille. A new LED light signature for the tail lamps and Maybach-specific exhaust tips headline the changes at the rear. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 develops 550bhp and a bit more torque than before – 770Nm (up from 730Nm). The powertrain now benefits from the addition of the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) technology, which provides an additional boost of 21.5bhp and 250Nm when needed.
