Meanwhile, the India currency firmed 14 paise to 70.98 against the dollar in opening trade on Monday.
The domestic stock market on Monday opened in green with BSE Sensex starting the day at 35, 983.80 and Nifty at 10,813.25.
As compared to its previous close on Friday at 35,871.48, Sensex registered a jump of over 100 points in early trade. Nifty, on the other hand, opened almost 16 points higher as compared to its close on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Indian currency firmed 14 paise to 70.98 against the dollar in opening trade Monday after the greenback came under pressure against some currencies amid foreign fund inflows and a higher opening of domestic equity markets, news agency PTI reported.
On Friday, the rupee had gained 10 paise to end at 71.14 against the US dollar.
