Markets begin week on a negative note: Sensex at 34198, Nifty at 10260

Key equity indices Sensex and Nifty opened lower on Monday.The markets opened in red with the Sensex witnessing a fall of 36 points to open at 34412.

At 9:20 am, Sensex was at 34198.67, down 178.32 points and Nifty 50 at 10260.35, down 56.10 points.

Meanwhile, Rupee opens lower at 73.96 per dollar.

At 9:15 am, Rupee trades at 73.88 per dollar as against the previous close of 73.76 per Dollar.

The rupee is expected to remain under pressure weighed by a further rise in long-term US Treasuries following non-farm payroll data.
