As Hollywood prepares to celebrate the Oscars on Sunday, movie theatres are trying to lure back audiences that have been streaming films at home for over a year. Some cinemas have closed permanently while others are trying to recover and hope that a string of delayed blockbusters will produce a moviegoing rebound.

"I do think what we`ll see when we do return to the cinema is that films that celebrate that particular art form of sitting in a dark room with a bunch of strangers and looking at a very large screen with a very loud sound system is going to become a more focused and ritualized thing. It`s the only place where the art dominates. When you watch something on streaming, the other people in the room with you are welcome to interject, to pause, to go to the bathroom, to text, to do other things."

"For 300 people to laugh and cry at the same time, strangers, not just your family in your house, that`s a very powerful thing that I don`t think we`re ever going to give up. "This has been a long tough year for everyone and I`m delighted the night will honour the&nbsp;key worker&nbsp;heroes who have cared for us so well during that time and continue to do so," singer Dua Lipa, who is nominated for four awards, said in a statement. 
 
"They are quite simply an inspiration. The BRIT Awards are always special and this will truly make it a night to remember." Lipa is among several singers who will perform at the event, the first live music show at the O2 in more than a year.

A new documentary film has revealed the "completely unknown" story of six Chinese men who survived the sinking of the Titanic and adds a new chapter to the history of the world's most famous ship.

With Oscar-winning director James Cameron as executive producer, 'The Six'&nbsp;has earned glowing reviews in China and at one point&nbsp;trended on the country's Twitter-like Weibo after its release on Friday.

Director Arthur Jones hopes it will have the same impact when it is screened overseas and finally dispel myths that have endured for more than a century.

For the Briton and lead researcher Steven Schwankert, "The Six" gives a voice, life and faces to a small band of Chinese men who were among about 700 people to survive the Titanic's sinking in 1912. Jones said that a painstaking project stretched over several countries and years began as little more than a joke between the long-time friends, both of whom are based in China.&nbsp;

"Steven came to me and said that we should do the Chinese Titanic story with the Chinese guys who were on the Titanic," Jones, 47, told AFP at his studio in Shanghai.

"The Six" sees Schwankert and his fellow researchers pore over archives and meet descendants across continents as they try to piece together what happened to the men after surviving the most famous sinking of all time.

"It became fairly epic in terms of the research," said Jones.&nbsp; Eight Chinese were aboard the fateful vessel, in third class, when it sank after hitting an iceberg. Six, most of them sailors but not working on the Titanic, made it out alive on life rafts.

Cameron, who won best director and best picture at the Oscars for his 1997 smash-hit "Titanic", was fully supportive of the documentary and allowed Jones to show a scene which was not included in the cinema version of the blockbuster.

In the cut scene, an Asian-looking man hanging on for life on a piece of wood is plucked from the freezing water, perhaps becoming the last person to be saved.

When Schwankert and his team tracked down the man's son in real life, it turned out that he knew almost nothing of what his late father had endured because he never really spoke about it.

As they delved further into what became of the six men, word spread of their project, drawing more people to come forward with information. Even now fresh details are coming to light.

A strong element of the film is the prejudice that Chinese immigrant workers like the seamen faced as they sought new lives in the West.

The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 prohibited Chinese labourers from the United States, slamming the door on their "American Dream". The men arrived in New York with the other survivors but were shipped out of the country less than 24 hours later.

The parallels between anti-Asian sentiment then and now, in particular in the United States, are not lost on Jones and Schwankert. "People -- whether it's in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or anywhere else -- didn't suddenly develop these negative feelings in the last two or three months," Schwankert, 50, said by video call from Luoyang, in the central province of Henan.

"These are deep-seated problems."

The film also debunks claims that the Chinese men sneaked onto the lifeboat that saved them by disguising themselves as women or hiding on the raft.

Chinese viewers are happy that their countrymen's true survival story has now been told.

"Above anything else, audiences here are saying thank you for filling in this little bit of unwritten history, or maybe badly written history," Jones said.

The biggest cliffhanger at Sunday`s Oscars may not be who wins the top prizes - or even if Netflix can finally snag a coveted best picture trophy - but how the movie industry`s biggest night reinvents itself after a tumultuous year.

According to TMZ, the album hit number 1 in the UK, and with that Taylor has racked up 3, number-1 albums- `Fearless`, `Folklore`, and `Evermore` in 259 days. 
 
This has beaten `The Beatles` record who took 364 days to get number 1 rank with 3 albums in a row.`The Beatles` maintained the record for 54 years until Taylor broke the same on Saturday. 
 
The Grammy-award winning songstress extended gratitude to her fans by penning a note of thanks on Twitter that read, "WELL WELL WELL you all really went out and left my greatest expectations in shambles this week. Word on the street is you made Fearless (my version) the biggest country album 1st week of the last 6 years &amp; the top release of 2021 so far. Honestly?? How?? Did I get this lucky??".

Months after the nominees and certain details of the 93rd Academy Awards were announced, the show`s producers- Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher, and Steven Soderbergh spelt out the plans for the ceremony and how the COVID safety procedure would be integrated throughout. 
 
Cinema maniacs have been on their toes since the nominations of the 93rd annual Academy Awards were announced in March by Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas. Following the announcement, certain guidelines and details were also announced to keep the fans updated about the prestigious ceremony to be held on April 25, this year. 
 
Now, the producers of the show- Jesse Collins, Stacey Sher, and Steven Soderbergh have come out to reveal the actual details on how Covid-19 protocols would be integrated into the show`s broadcast while assuring that they are taking every measure to make sure all nominees and participants are safe throughout the three-hour ceremony, reported Deadline. 
 
"The narrative of the evening will be how we have gotten people back to work and what is involved exactly in doing that. There is that sort of strand that is going to run throughout the program of following the science of keeping people safe," said Sher. 
 
"The whole situation has been incredibly fluid in making sure that we are adhering to the guidelines in terms of capacity, and how we are allowed to move people, and how long we are allowed to keep them in certain places. There is no universe in which we are ever going to put anybody at risk," she added. 
 
The 58-year-old film producer also mentioned that she is hoping to combine safety with a show that feels like a glimpse of what is going to be possible when most people are vaccinated and rapid testing is the norm. "Covid is going to be there because it is everywhere. But we want to put it in its place and then sort of move forward," she said. 
 
As for the content of the 93rd Annual Academy Awards itself, producers assured it will be optimistic about the love for and need for the moviegoing experience, with Sher even invoking the announced closure of Arclight Theatres and the venerable Cinerama Dome this week, as per Deadline. 
 
Collins also joined and shared that the show is developing into something they only dreamed it could be and said they have been following Soderbergh`s `manifesto` that states the show will certainly look like a novel, and not at like a TV show. "It will be 24 frames per second, widescreen, with shots designed like movie shots, including over the shoulder," he explained. 
 
With the location for most of the ceremony taking place at Union Station, he told that the room there has been beautifully laid out by David Rockwell- production designer, with a hope to encourage winners to say something meaningful. 
 
Soderbergh was also asked about his own memorable acceptance speech when he won Best Director for Traffic in 2001, something that has been played as a good example at past Oscar nominee lunches to show potential winners what makes a good speech. "I was drunk. That`s not a lie," laughed Soderbergh, who said it was a surreal moment being handed that Oscar by Tom Cruise affecting his whole equilibrium since he had no idea he would possibly win.According to Deadline, Soderbergh also told that wearing a mask throughout the whole ceremony will be important for all the people who will be in attendance. 
 
"Masks will play a very important role in the story of the evening. That topic is very central to the evening," he said without elaborating.The producers also uniformly agreed that the ambitious show they are doing would not have been possible two months ago when the 93rd ceremony was originally planned for February 28th (the date the Golden Globes swooped in and took after AMPAS abandoned it). 
 
"That February date would have been impossible. Things have so improved with the vaccines. It was a great decision to push the show," said Soderbergh.Answering a question as to whether there has been outreach to invite President Biden, who has appeared before on an Oscar cast (to introduce Lady Gaga`s song `Til It Happens to You`), Sher said, "I think they have bigger fish to fry." Also, producers, especially Soderbergh, were terse when answering a question about the use of Zooms like other awards shows have done this year. The answer again to that, as they have repeatedly stated, is `No`. 
 
"We will use satellite hookups," told Soderbergh for those nominees who would not be able to attend the show. "We can control the image, the sound, working it into the overall show [more seamlessly]."The "red carpet" so associated with Oscars and awards shows will be "tiny," as per the Deadline.Producers also announced earlier that all the nominated songs will be performed during a 90-minute pre-show with each track having unique creative elements. 
 
A list of 15 presenters was also revealed earlier this week, but Soderbergh promised two more presenters would be named by the end of the week.Wrapping up the details, Soderbergh also expressed that he wants the Oscar show to be uplifting and hopeful for people, despite the fact that many of the nominated films this year can be construed as depressing or dark in some ways."I hope it doesn`t remind us of the pain and dislocation people have been feeling over the past year. We want to see a potential future," he said. 
 
The Oscar telecast will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, April 25.
