Russian Defence Ministry published on Wednesday several videos of air strikes on what it says are terrorist locations in Idlib province on Tuesday.

Russian and Syrian jets hammered a major rebel stronghold, The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said on Tuesday, days before leaders of Russia, Iran and Turkey meet in Tehran.

A warehouse which stored portable air-defence systems and drone launch zones for attacks on Russia's Khmeimim airbase and towns in provinces Aleppo and Hama were also targeted.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had said that at least nine civilians, including five children from the same family, were killed in the Russian raids, while 10 more people were wounded.

For President Bashar al-Assad, the defeat of rebels in the northwestern province would mean breaking the last major stronghold of active military opposition to his rule, though other large areas also remain beyond his control.
