The President and First Lady, Melania Trump observed the fourth of July by hosting military families on the White House South Lawn for a picnic and fireworks
The United States President Donald Trump praised US military for keeping America safe in his Independence Day speech.
He thanked the military for putting their lives at risk in order to ensurethe safety of the nation.
"Two hundred-and-forty-two years ago, on July 4th, 1776, America's founders adopted the Declaration of Independence and changed the course of human history", He said.
"But our freedom exists only because there are brave Americans willing to give their lives to defend it and defend our great country. American liberty has been earned through the blood, sweat, and sacrifice of American patriots," US President added.

President Trump welcomed the servicemen and women and their families and shook hands and took photographs.
Meanwhile,Americans had a lot quieter on Wednesday as over dozens of traditionalfirework shows are being cancelled across the western side due to wildfire scare and increasing temperature.
According to media reports, over 40 shows were cancelled in Colorado state only that too at the last minute. People were advised to check on the particular show they want to see before they head out from their home to watch the show.
