
The United States recorded more than 2,000 coronavirus deaths in a 24-hour period for the third consecutive day running.
At least 63,001 people have now died in the United States, and 10,69,534 cases have so far been reported. Of these, 29,625 cases were reported on Thursday.
The country -- hardest hit by the pandemic in terms of the number of fatalities -- recorded 2,053 deaths on Thursday, after 2,502 deaths on Wednesday and 2,207 on Tuesday.
The novel coronavirus has infected more than 3.2 million people and killed at least 2,33,000 globally, according to the JohnHopkins University.
