The United Nations human rights chief Michelle Bachelet on Friday paid a visit to a school for Rohingya refugees children in Kuala Lumpur during a visit to Malaysia.
The visit was the first by a current U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights to Malaysia.
During her visit, Bachelet met with Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed and other government officials to discuss efforts to protect and uphold human rights in the country.
She expressed hope for Malaysia to rectify the UN Refugee Convention saying that refugees should be given access to health care, education and given the right to work.
