UK teen charged with attempted murder following stabbing of 13-year-old girl

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murderafter a 13-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck, stomach, chest and back in Hessle, East Yorkshire, British media reported on Saturday (Nov 2).

The incident occurred on Friday morning. A report by The Guardian said that the boy, who could not be named due to legal reasons, was also charged with the possession of a bladed article.

The discovery of the victim

As per The Guardian report, the girl was discovered withmultiple lacerations to her body by the publicat the side of the A63 dual carriageway, shortly before 7 am on Friday.

The report added that the 13-year-old victim suffered life-threatening injuries. She was in a serious but stable condition at the hospital.

The 14-year-old boy was remanded into custody to appear at the Hull Magistrates' Court on Monday.

5 more teenagers arrested & later released on bail

Five more teenagers- three boys and two girls- were arrested onsuspicionof attempted murder in a wooded area nearby, in connection with the incident.

These five teenagers were released from custody on police bail. CitingDetective Superintendent Simon Vickers, a report by Sky News early Sunday said that those arrested in connection with Friday's stabbing were known to the victim.
