Two Italian inmates escape prison; vow to return by 15 days

Two prisoners escaped from an Italian prison and left a courtesy note to the guards saying that they would be back shortly, as per a newspaper reported on Tuesday. 

Both the convicts Davad Zukanovic and Lil Ahmetovic are cousins, they broke out of Rebibbia prison which is situated in Rome on June 2. They scaled the walls using a water hose in the courtyard. 

In the note, they said they had to flee due to some personal reasons. According to Repubblica daily, they "needed  to protect their children from a nasty business they had got themselves into."    

They also said that only they could make things right for their kids as both their wives are in jail. They promised to return by 15 days. 

Both the convicts are facing jail term until 2029 for non-violent crimes including fraud and receiving stolen goods.
