Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump called his Democratic rival Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz "communist", saying he's thrilled that they're on the ticket, and hinting at a debate with the US vice president 'fairly soon'.
"This is a ticket that would want this country to go communist immediately, if not sooner, Trump said in an appearance at Fox & Friends programme on Fox News on Wednesday (Aug 7).
"This is a shocking pick," he said about Harris announcing the Minnesota governor as herrunning mate.
"It's very insulting to the Jewish people...very insulting to people that want security," Trumpsaid. Hewas probably hinting that Harris did not pick Josh Shapiro, another leading contender for running mate because he is Jewish.
Describing Walz as a "very, very liberal man", Trump said he is "thrilled" that he is on the Democratic ticket.
"He's very heavy into transgender...anything transgender he thinks is great. He's not where the country is on anything," he added.
Trump described Walz as a smarter version of Harris. "If you look at his record with no walls, no security, let everybody in... he's worse than they are. Nobody knew how radical left she [Harris] was, but he's a smarter version of her."

Trump says will debate Harris on Fox, but...
Trump said he would debate Harris, whichwill be announced 'fairly soon', while hinting he would like the eventto happen on Fox News. Earlier, he had dropped out of a debate that was supposed to be hosted by ABC News.
“I don’t know how she debates. I heard she’s sort of a nasty person but not a good debater. But we’ll see, because we’ll be debating her, I guess, in the pretty near future. It’s going to be announced fairly soon.”
"I’d love to see it on Fox, but, you know, it takes two to tango," adding Harris "doesn't want to debate."
Harris, who had agreed to the ABC News debate and hit out at Trump for cancelling it last week.
After the former US president dropped out of the debate last week, Harris had said at a rally, "If you’ve got something to say, say it to my face.”
