A typical Greenland Shark can live up to 400 years
The 500-year-old Greenland Shark -- recently found by a team of Danish experts -- is now being reported to be 392 years old contradictory to earlier claims doing the rounds on the internet stating the massive shark to be 512 years old.
Previously, various reports attributed the shark to be a Greenland shark found living in the North Atlantic and Arcticwaters. The mammoth sea-creature could very well be the oldest living vertebrate in the world.

According to report published in Metro, UK, the fish is believed to have been around since 1505 and depending on its current length -- 18 feet -- can be anywhere between 272 to 512 years old. The species is known to grow by a centimetre every year.
A typical Greenland Shark can live up to 400 years in temperature ranging between -1° Celsius and 10° Celsius. It can swim as deep as 7,200 feet and can weigh more than a tonne.
