The key suspect accused of plotting the St Petersburg metro bombing two weeks ago has been arrested near Moscow, BBC quoted Russian security officials as saying.
An explosion in a metro station in St Petersburg had killed at least 14 people and injured several otherson April 4. A day after the attack, security officials raided the apartment of Akbarzhon Jalilov - the main suspect in the suicide bombing on the St Petersburg metro.
However, there was no claim of responsibility for the explosion atSt Petersburgeven as Russian president Putin had indicated at the time "he was considering all possibilities including terrorism".
Russian security officials were able to identify Kyrgyzstan-born Akbarzhon Jalilov who held a Russian passport as the suicide bomber behind the attack.
