The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday took over the probe pertaining to the escape of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Naveed Jatt from police custody on February 6 while on his way for a routine medical examination.
The NIA today registered a case related to Jatt's escape, the NIA spokesperson said, adding that theNIA team will proceed to Srinagar tomorrow for the investigation of the case
Naveed Jatt escaped from Srinagar's Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital after he along with a group of terrorists accompanying him attacked and killed the two policemen escorting them.
An FIR was registered by the local Police at Karan Nagar in Srinagar district, the NIA said.
The Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested four people in connection with the firing in a raid conducted by a Special Investigation Team.
