China school teaching girls 'obedience' closed

A school in China which claims it teaches girls "traditional virtues" such as household chores and the value of "talking less and working more" has been shut down by Chinese authorities.

The education bureau said the institute violates socialist core values, saymedia reports.

Authorities have also urged to investigate further to find similar institutes.

There is also a video posted by news website Pear Video, in which lecturers of School of Traditional Culturecan be seen, speaking against gender equality and making other sexist statements like not fighting back when being beaten and women not attempting a career but stay at the bottom level.

The school also urged women to unconditionally obey their fathers, husband and sons.

It also advised women against divorce and warns that awoman might die if she has sex with more than three men.

The school, Fushun School of Traditional Culture,was opened in 2011.

According to reports, in China, such institutes are rising since the past few years.

According to a Chinese daily, several employees of the institutes protested against its closure saying that the viral video was a misinterpretation of their work to promote traditional culture.
