Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday suggested that Moscow can increase gas exports to Turkey can become to eventually turn it into a hub for gas supplies to Europe.
He further said that Russia will not sell its energy resources to countries that set up price caps.
"I want to say that we will not act to our own detriment," he said at a Moscow energy forum.

Russia said that it expects Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to officially offer Ukraine mediation deal during his upcoming meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Kazakhstan on Thursday.
"The Turks are offering their mediation. If any talks take place, then most likely they will be on their territory: in Istanbul or Ankara," Kremlin foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov told reporters in Moscow, reports AFP news agency.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief has announced that power has been restored to Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

Taking to Twitter, Rafael Grossi, director general of IAEA, warned on Wendesday that the nuclear plant, Europe’s biggest, had lost all external power needed for vital safety systems for the second time in five days.

The Kremlin said on Wednesday (October 12) sought to dial down the western leaders' "rhetoric" on the potential use of nuclear weapons.
Speaking to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also informed that there had been no attempt to call for a metting between presidents Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden.
"We express our daily regret that Western heads of state engage in nuclear rhetoric every day," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, adding that such a practice was "provocative".

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday termed the oil price cap—which the West is trying to impose—a 'threat to billions of people'.
"Russia is ready for the start of deliveries," Putin told an energy forum in Moscow, referring to the part of the pipeline not affected by leaks.
"The ball is in the EU's court. If they want to, then the taps can be turned on and that's it."
