
Russiaon Friday (November 24) conducted atest-launch of a new modernised defense missile from the Sary Shagan range in Kazakhstan. According to Russian defence ministry, the launch was successful and the missile hit a provisional target in established time.
The ministry said, the close-range missile will be a part of the new defense system protecting Moscow from potential attack from air and space. The missile is supposed to replace the current defense system A-135 "Amur", which was developed in the 1970s, the ministry said.
