PM Narendra Modi arrives in Philadelphia as he begins his three-day visit to the United States.

During his visit, the PM will be attending the QUAD Leaders' Summit in Delaware and the Summit of the Future (SOTF) at the United Nations in New York.

Along with this, the PM will hold some key bilateral meetings during his visit.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in United States. He will be participating in President Biden-hosted Quad Leaders' summit and will also address an event at the United Nations General Assembly.

PM Modi will visit Delaware and New York during the first leg of his visit and meet President Joe Biden for the Quad leaders’ summit. US officials have taken steps to ramp up security around the meeting venues.

According to media reports, the US security establishment has also taken note of threats from pro-Khalistan elements in the US.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving at Philadelphia International Airport at 7:45 pm (Indian Time). He will be heading to a hotel in Delaware from the airport. 

Tensions brewing in Asia's trade-rich waters top the agenda as US President Joe Biden welcomes leaders from Australia, India and Japan to his Delaware hometown for a diplomatic push to counter China in the waning months of his presidency.

On the agenda: stepped-up security cooperation in the Indian Ocean and progress to track illegal fishing fleets operating in the waters of the Indo-Pacific, most of which were Chinese.

Their joint statement was expected to include stronger language than during previous meetings about the South China Sea and about North Korea's threats, officials said.

US lawmakers Ami Bera, Rob Wittman, Tammy Duckworth and Pete Ricketts, launched the bipartisan House and Senate Quad Caucuses on Friday, a day before the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Delaware.

In a statement, US Representative Ami Bera made the announcement regarding the launch of bipartisan House and Senate Caucuses. All four lawmakers are members of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee. 

"Today, US Representative Ami Bera, MD (D-CA), Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Indo-Pacific Subcommittee, Representative Rob Wittman (R-VA) and U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Pete Ricketts (R-NE)–members of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee–launched the bipartisan House and Senate Quad Caucuses," Ami Bera said in a statement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today join US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss regional security and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.

According to India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations at New York, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, "a significant focus" will be paid to increase the youth’s involvement in all aspects of governance and nation-building.

"A significant focus will be on looking at how we can harness technologies. Again, keeping in view. The focus is on the future and that we need to involve the youth. How do we bring in the youth in all aspects of governance, in all aspects of nation-building, and in all aspects of our development process? I think this will be a big focus and we are eagerly waiting to look forward and to hear the Prime Minister’s message".

India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations at New York, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi presents the message of Indian youth at the global stage.

While speaking to ANI, Harish said that the future lies with the youth and India has the largest youth component globally.

"We look forward eagerly to PM’s visit and to hear his message. But, as the Secretary-General said, we have a system built by our grandfathers, and this is not a future that we can leave for our grandchildren. So, the focus of the summit is the future, and our youth are the future. India has the largest youth component globally," P Harish said.

"I think when PM speaks, he brings the message of the youth of India to the whole world – what are their aspirations, what is their example, what is their contribution to our development process, to our growth process. I think the focus here is going to be on sustainable development, financing for development," he added.

Indian PM Narendra Modi called the UN General Assembly's 'The Summit of the Future' an opportunity for the international community to chart the road ahead for the betterment of humanity.

He stated, "The Summit of the Future is an opportunity for the global community to chart the road ahead for the betterment of humanity. I will share views of the one sixth of the humanity as their stakes in a peaceful and secure future are among the highest in the world."

During his visit, PM Modi will also interact with the Indian diaspora and American business leaders.

"I am eagerly looking forward to engaging with the Indian diaspora and important American business leaders, who are the key stakeholders and provide vibrancy to the unique partnership between the largest and the oldest democracies of the world," he stated.

PM Narendra Modi will also hold a meeting with US President Joe Biden during the visit. Speaking about his meeting with Biden, Modi said, "My meeting with President Biden will allow us to review and identify new pathways to further deepen India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership for the benefit of our people and the global good."

PM Modi will take part in the sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, which is being hosted by US President Joe Biden in his hometown on September 21 (Saturday).

Quad unites India, Australia, Japan, and the United States. In 2025, India will host the Quad Leaders' Summit.

In his departure statement ahead of the US visit, PM Narendra Modi said Quad has emerged as a key group of like-minded nations to work for peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.

"I look forward joining my colleagues President Biden, Prime Minister Albanese and Prime Minister Kishida for the Quad Summit. The forum has emerged as a key group of the like-minded countries to work for peace, progress and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region."
