New York, USA

Allegations of racism have always followed ex-US president Donald Trump throughout his life in business and politics. Now, we have another addition to this seemingly never-ending list, derived from his nephew's memoir. Fred C. Trump III in his book, 'All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way', mentions how one afternoon in the early 1970s, his uncle came boiling over his beloved car being damaged.

“Donald was pissed. Boy, was he pissed,” The Guardian quotes Trump III as writing in the book. The incident allegedly unfolded at his grandparents’ house in Queens, New York City.

His uncle then showed him his “cotillon white Cadillac Eldorado convertible” which had one “giant gash, at least two feet long” in its retractable canvas roof, which also had “another, shorter gash next to it.” Trump then allegedly used racist slurs.

"Look what the n***s did", Trump III recalls his uncle's racist outburst.

I "knew that was a bad word," writes Trump III.

He then goes straight for the key question: “Was Donald a racist?” However, he settles for, "Perhaps everyone in Queens was a racist then.”

Response from Trump campaign

A spokesperson for the Trump campaign vehemently denied the allegations. “This is completely fabricated and total fake news of the highest order,” said Steven Cheung.

“It is appalling a lie so blatantly disgusting can be printed in media. Anyone who knows President Trump knows he would never use such language, and false stories like this have been thoroughly debunked,” he added.

Previous claims

Trump has faced similar allegations in the past as well. As per rumours, he used the n-word while working for The Apprentice, the hit NBC TV show. He allegedly used the slur while referring to a black finalist, something that Trump strongly disputes.

He also denied the existence of a tape that allegedly contained the video of him saying the slur.

Earlier, Mary Trump, the sister of Trump III, also claimed to have heard his uncle saying the n-word and antisemitic slurs.

Trump III’s memoir is slated to be released this coming Tuesday in the US.
