North Korea strongly condemns NATO summit declaration

North Korea expressed strong condemnation for the declaration issued at the recent NATO summit, according to KCNA, the state news agency, on Saturday (Jul13).
The NATO countries stressed a membership vow for Ukraine and took a stronger stance on China's support for Russia in a declaration this week at the summit in Washington.
"The "Washington Summit Declaration," cooked up and made public on July 10, goes to prove that the U.S. and NATO, reduced to a tool for its confrontation, pose the most serious threat to the global peace and security,"North Korea's state media KCNA quoted a foreign ministry spokesperson as saying.
North Korea further claimed that USefforts to strengthen military alliances with NATO and Asian countries like South Korea and Japan are a significant factor in heightened regional tensions, a worsening global security situation, and a potential arms race.
Notably, the summit declaration called on China to end all material and political support for Russia's war effort.

It also accused Iran and North Korea of encouraging Russia's war in Ukraine by supplying direct military support to Moscow.
On the other side, South Korea and the United States on the sidelines of a NATO summit signed a guideline on establishing an integrated system of extended deterrence for the Korean peninsula to counter nuclear and military threats from North Korea.
China slams NATO's accusation that Beijing is helping Russia
The Chinese government on Friday (Jul12) slammed the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) over the accusation that Beijing was helping Russia in its war in Ukraine. The comment was made by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a telephone conversation with his Dutch counterpart on Thursday (Jul11).
Wang's comments came hours after the NATO summit was held in Washington.
NATO members accused China of being a decisive enabler of Russia through its "large-scale support for Russia's defence industrial base." They called on China to stop "all material and political support" to Russia's war effort.
Earlier also the Western countries have accused China of transferring drone and missile technology and satellite imagery to Moscow. China has also been accused of conducting malicious cyber and hybrid activities, including disinformation on NATO states.
