Trump's daughter and senior advisor Ivanka Trump will be visiting the holy city along with her husband Jared Kushner.

Trump and Kushner will be accompanied by the US delegation headed by Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan and US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

In December last year, Trump had recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Isreal and had decided to move the US embassy to the holy city. The move had created an upheaval in the Middle East with Turkey, Iran and Saudia Arabia condemning Trump's decision.
