Insects are passe, this American eatery has a Tarantula burger on the menu

There are die-hard non-vegetarians and then there are those who take their meat-loving fanaticism to a whole new level. Some foodies never budge or shrink away from trying out the weirdest items ever served.

A restaurant in Durham, North Carolina has a special, rather unusual meaty creation to entice the adventurous foodies.

Bull City Burger and Brewery celebrates April as the Exotic Meat Month and has given their regular menu a complete overhaul to feature some of the most gut-churning items.

One of the star items on the menu is the tarantula burger. The eating joint has a Tarantula Burger eating challenge in place wherein a person can sign-up and if his/her is drawn, the person then has to appear for the challenge.

What some may dub as a nightmare served on a platter, the burger contains pasture-raised North Carolina beef, gruyere cheese, and chilli sauce with crunchy oven-roasted, salted tarantula atop.

The tarantula burger is not the only repulsive item at Bull City's. For those who would not stop with the baked tarantula, there are other unimaginably horrifying eatables like bug ice cream and burgers, rabbit meatball subs and snacks made from alligators, python, bison, duck, cattle testicles, among others.
