This is a historic first as Wiles will be the first woman in the US to hold the role. You might have noticed her recently at Trump’s victory speech at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on November 5, where Trump referred to her as the “ice maiden” who “likes to sort of stay in the back.” Wiles was the campaign chief for Trump’s race to the White House in 2024.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, on Thursday (Nov 7), congratulated Donald Trump on winning the US presidential election. In his first remarks since Trump's win, he praised his courage when a gunman tried to assassinate him during a rally in Pennsylvania. "He behaved, in my opinion, in a very correct way, courageously, like a real man," Putin said at the Valdai discussion club in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi. "I take this opportunity to congratulate him on his election."

Riots erupted in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam on Thursday (Nov 7) evening ahead of the Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israeli football club). It is claimed that Israeli fans were allegedly attacked by pro-Palenstine supporters with several left injured. Maccabi fans said confrontations started when objects were hurled at them after they had left a local pub.

Around 50 European leaders held a meeting on Thursday (Nov 7) to asses how United States (US) president-elect Donald Trump would affect their fortunes and also sought a common stance on Russia.A report by the news agency Associated Press early Friday said that the European Political Community summit in Hungary's capital city of Budapest reassessed trans-Atlantic relations in the hope that Trump’s second US presidency will avoid the strife of his first administration.
