US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed the first member of his Trump 2.0 cabinet- Susie Wiles as the White House chief of staff. This is a historic first as Wiles will be the first woman in the US to hold the role. You might have noticed her recently at Trump’s victory speech at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on November 5, where Trump referred to her as the “ice maiden” who “likes to sort of stay in the back.” Wiles was the campaign chief for Trump’s race to the White House in 2024.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, on Thursday (Nov 7), congratulated Donald Trump on winning the US presidential election. In his first remarks since Trump's win, he praised his courage when a gunman tried to assassinate him during a rally in Pennsylvania. "He behaved, in my opinion, in a very correct way, courageously, like a real man," Putin said at the Valdai discussion club in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi. "I take this opportunity to congratulate him on his election."
