Morning brief: Rockets launched at US-led base in Syria from Iraq; Gaza war updates; and more

At least five rockets were fired at a US-led coalition military base in Syria from northern Iraq on Sunday (Apr 21). Following the launch, Iraqi forces carried out a major search operation in northern Nineveh province.

The war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip rages on with Israel carrying out overnight strikes on Rafah in which 22 people were killed, including 18 children. The strikes were carried out at a time when the United States was clearing additional military aid.
