In the United States (US), Republicans have won enough seats to control the House. AHouse Republican victory in Arizona, alongside a win in slow-counting California earlier Wednesday, gave the GOP the 218 House victories that make up the majority.
Billionaire Elon Musk and Republican Vivek Ramaswamy are a part of the upcoming Trump 2.0 administration in the US. Musk and Ramaswamy have been assigned to the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and need to tackle "massive waste and fraud" in $6,750,000,000,000of annual government spending.
In other news from around the world, an explosion was reported outside the Supreme Court in Brazil. Aman carrying explosives tried to enter the premises but died during the suicide attempt. This explosion came just days before Brazil would host the G20 Summit.
